On most Mondays, we will be Lip Stalking a lucky lady. For your opportunity to feature you and your lips here, please read this.
Today we are lip stalking Katy Potaty who is also known as the Cupcake Lady. Please check out her amazing website and be prepared to drool over the fantastic cakes she bakes!
Katy says :
I absolutely LOVE Ciccone Cosmetics Oceanus; it’s a long-wearing creamy coral, which suits both warm and cool skintones (I’ve lent it to my bestie who has cool porcelain skin and dark hair and it looks brilliant on her too)! The texture is similar to old-school Revlon lippies, that is, it goes on quite thickly and sits on the surface of your lips until you do the old smackeroo and rub them together. Once you’ve warmed it up a little, it soaks in and provides a lasting pop of colour.
It’s definitely not a drying lipstick, although if your lips are dry prior to applying, I’d use a lip scrub and them apply a balm before the lipstick, as it does show up any flakey spots. The packaging is cute and quite heavy-duty, it has survived rolling around in the bottom of my enormous day bag with bottles of perfume, bobby pins and all sorts of junk!
If like me, you are caught up in this Summer’s love for coral and can find a Ciccone lipstick stockist near you – buy this, it’s amazing and I’ve not found a better colour!
Lip Stalker also has the same lipstick and always gets complimented when wearing it. Do you like it too?
Artists splat paint on a canvas and call it modern art. I applied the same principle to this Strawberries & Cream Lip Art, which was inspired by this yummy Chupa Chups lollipop. Looking back, I should have applied lip liner to tidy the edges but I was dying to eat my lollipop!
Lip products featured are Elizabeth Arden Advanced Lip-Fix Cream, Vani-T Krush Minerals Lip Crayon in Scandal and endota spa organic lip balm in cinnamon & honey.
Missha is a Korean brand and relatively cheap in Australia. In fact, Missha products are a lot cheaper than certain European and US beauty brands found in Priceline, the drugstore mecca. I’ve had my eye on this orange matte lipstick for ages and when I saw it at 30% off, I knew it would be mine.
I was saving this lipstick for a special occasion and I applied it for the first time in the car on the way to the event…BIG mistake! I overestimated my lipstick skills of application! I ended up with bright orange lipstick on my teeth and gums!! And I forgot that it was matte so I didn’t prep my lips beforehand with a lip scrub and primer. As a result, the bright orange highlighted my flakies. Nevertheless, the colour lasted for a good 4-5 hours because I was paranoid and kept checking the mirror every 15 minutes.
I need to find a suitable lip primer to wear under this Missha lipstick and when I do, I will be rocking bright orange lips all throughout Summer!
NC stands for Natural Compatibles – an Australian cosmetics brand, which focusses on colours which enhance the face. There are 5 shades in the NC Lip Gloss range which boasts natural apricot oil and vitamin E in their formulation to help soften and nourish lips.
Sunset is a rustic copper shade with a bit of shimmy shimmer.
Lip Gloss Swatch
Pout ‘n’ Pose
To be honest, the packaging does not scream buy me – it’s something which would definitely not catch my eye in shops. Rustic copper shades are normally reserved for my nails and not my lips, so again, it would not feature on my wishlist. However (and this is a big however), I was pleasantly surprised at how good this shade looks on my lips and against my skin tone. The formulation is good being scentless and tasteless. The applicator is of the doe foot variety and the gloss glides on and is not crazy sticky. It’s a grower! I am definitely growing to like it more and more.
One of YSL’s bestsellers is the YSL Rouge Volupté range and it’s no wonder why with its luxurious gold case packaging, desirable shades and creamy lipstick formula.
Beautiful. Beautiful packaging. Beautiful lipstick. Fabulous idea to have a tiny mirror on the lid. I will use any excuse to flash this beauty in public. Smooth application with great pigmentation and it’s moisturising. Lasting power is 3-4 hours on me. I love love love YSL Rouge Volupte and I will definitely be adding more of these to my collection.
YSL Rouge Volupte Orange Shiver Lipstick Swatch
Orange Shiver is an opaque coral peach; not exactly orange.
My first attempt at Leopard Print Lips…and it definitely needs a lot more work!! I bet if I didn;t say it was Leopard Print, you would all be confused to what kind of print it was!!! Let’s just say that this leopard is in the middle of changing his spots!!!!
Formulated with beeswax and essential oils with no parabens, Dr Roebuck’s LIPS is a lovely pot of goodness for your lips. Lips feel softer in the morning when applied before my daily slumber. The scent is so faint that I can’t quite detect what it is and according to my taste buds, it tastes like a light olive oil dressing. As with all pots of lip balms, make sure your finger and fingernail are both clean before dipping in and definitely avoid double-dipping. Lip Stalker prefers tubed lip treatments to prevent finger contamination.
Introducing CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain in Everbloom Kiss 400…
Everbloom Kiss 400 is a sheer pink and adds a subtle hint of colour to lips.
This is the first lip stain I have ever used so I didn’t know what to expect and I have no other lip stains to compare it to. I like using it as a base for red lipstick and I like to apply it on its own and topped up with sheer lipgloss. It is a versatile product when combined with other lip products. On its own, it doesn’t stand out much. Love the raspberry scent!!
